The primary objective of this Camp is to provide the student with a performance knowledge of the jazz genre and its related
styles as it applies to interpretation, sight reading, small and large ensembles and solo improvisation. The Camp is designed
to provide each student the opportunity to perform at a more competent level of musicianship. Small group classes and one-on-one
instruction will be provided.
The Great Basin Junior Jazz Camp will run each day from 8am
to noon each day of the five day Camp. Classes will be held in the Fine Arts Building at the College of Southern Idaho. Water
and fruit juice will be provided during breaks. No lunch will be served.
The cost is $185, which
includes all materials and a group photo. Each student will receive a Diploma during a graduation ceremony on the final day
of Camp.
